In addition to writing scripts and treatments for video projects, I have recently begun posting poetry, personal reflections and cultural commentary on my Substack, The Common Flow Narrative. I have also gigged as a ghost writer and copywriter on occasion, and have edited others' work. I am at my best when developing projects in collaboration. While new ideas come relatively easy, my true gifting is found when serving as a script/story doctor for others' projects -- diagnosing plot, character and theme issues while developing solutions for further drafts. There is magic in a story well-told. But there is tragedy in one which comes so close to greatness, but shoots its shot too early, needing just a few more drafts to reach it. In film and video, style so often stands in for substance, and aesthetic masquerades as depth. Greatness begins and ends with writing.

From one of my favorites, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. Read my article about the sociopolitical importance of watching movies here.

A poem about identity and self, and the violence of becoming. Read the full text on The Common Flow Narrative.
